Seadragon is a music festival held on the Mornington Peninsula over two days in early March. The brief for this project was to develop a range of branding and promotional material for the festival. Seadragon’s vision was to not only host an exciting and entertaining festival, but also intended to be a major tourism draw to the Mornington Peninsula area.
The artefacts delivered explores what makes the Mornington Peninsula unique, and how the festival could use that to its advantage to differentiate itself from other music festivals across the country, with the beaches and surf being identified as the major attraction to the area. The festival’s identity draws heavy inspiration from vintage surf design, especially vintage surf wear, and attempts to capture the carefree and energetic emotions conveyed in that design style, creating a dynamic and exciting image for the festival that celebrates the Peninsula’s charm.
